Shadows

Shadows can be a product of, or a side affect of shot already framed

Or they can act as binders for the composition, become an essential part of the shot, giving it it's power and focus.

Still again, it can draw attention to and add gravity a moment in time, rather than space. Whether it be a view of someone you love, reminding you of their importance in your life:

or the view of two strangers, in a beautiful art cafe

Or sometimes, it's the best way to see a silly crisp bag creation, made by a group of slightly less than sober friends after a fun night of computer games and cartoons.

Whatever the affect, I've got admit...a good choice of remit from Carmi, and I'm pleased I participated in this, it's been too long!

For more shadows, head over to Carmi's blog, Written Inc, for his Themtic Photographic post on Shadows

For an Akureyrian.

These first two are two of the three places I sit. In the corner, normally
on the floor, or maybe on the white walls with my legs dangling over the edge. The last book I was reading there was The Catcher in the Rye, which I'm still reading now.

These next two are the views from when I'm sat down and reading

...not exactly inspiring! But I'm always alone here, I'm never disturbed. I can be standing looking over the edge as hundreds of people walk past, and they never think to look up. I'm about 11 floors up.
For all of these, I didn't bother editing them, I'm only showing content really. But then while in Manchester, I found a few interesting things (:

Blogger's being a pain in the behind so
They're going to have to go down the right hand side like this. /sigh

Anyway, those pieces of text weren't superimposed, they're real...(See!)

And the house? Well I'm not sure, but it seems amongst the thriving metropolis of Manchester...someone has built a house for geese on the grounds of a bar. Seems nice I think.

So, that's my overly exposed hidey hole - I hope
you manage to find somewhere to sit and ignore
the world, and where "everything would be nonsense, nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't."

Lights On.

There is nothing particularly fancy about the layout, or the style of my entries.
This is a place for me to store my photos, and as it happens I really like sharing them
with this community.

This shots come from;
Rochdale Canal,
Nexus Art cafĂ©,
My lamp,
And more Rochdale Canal!

Thanks of course, as always go to Carmi and his Thematic Photographic project, which this week is themed Lights On.

Curved. Again, just in time...

A lovely walk along those hidden pieces of nature, which are secretly
slipped into the busy industrial sprawl of this old side of town.

...

So of course, I only take pictures of various metal objects!
What can I say? Some days I just can't stand snapping nature.
It just doesn't behave.

And oh yes, of course, I almost forgot:
These are images for the theme Curved (see below).

And finally, the closest recreation to one of my first shots with my current camera ever (lost the original somehow) - just because that brilliant duo are playing on my mind at the moment, after discussions of Calvinball.

Thanks of course to Carmi and his
Photography of a Thematic nature,
which is also somewhat Curved these days.

Pairs revisited.

Here we have a few "just in time" entries for
Carmi's Pairs:
I think the first two are my favourite
